“EAZA EEP Komodo Dragon field conservation programme” project agreement

Gathering of data for biometric research on Komodo dragon development.

Agreement with the UAM (Madrid Autónoma University) Biology Department’s Cytogenetic Laboratory (June 2006)

On the basis of this agreement, Palmitos Park and other Aspro Parks’ parks provide primate blood samples to the aforementioned laboratory with the purpose of gathering data on chromosome differentiation between phylogenetically related species.

Collaboration with the University of Barcelona’s GGVM (Large Marine Vertebrates Group)

Gathering of data and biological samples of sea turtles for the preparation of genetic, food and satellite telemetry research within the framework of the LIFE-Posidonia programme, jointly sponsored by the European Union and the Balearic Islands Government.

Agreement with the Bochum University Department of Psychobiology (Germany)

Research studies on “Visual Cognition in Bottlenose Dolphins” were conducted at Marineland Mallorca’s Dolphinarium in 1999-2002. The results gathered during this collaboration were published in several scientific peer-reviewed publications
